さくらまつり

 さくらまつりが だいすきでした. わたしは うたを うたいました. ダンスも しました. コンサートの あとで, にほんの おかしを たべました. I really enjoyed Sakura Matsuri. At first, I was hesitant about it because I would be putting myself in an uncomfortable position, but it was fun and a bit exciting. Given where we started as a class and where we are now, we did a good job. 

Easter break

イースターの やすみは よくえいがを みました. わたしの こうこうの ともだちは ノートルダムに きました. わたしは ときどき Duncan でバスケットボールをしました. たくさんねました. やすみは あまり しゅくだいを しませんでした.

Gimbap and Ongiri Ep2:

 I watched the second episode of Gimbap and Ongiri, and it featured Taiga, the male Japanese lead, mustering the courage to ask Rin, the female Korean lead, out on a date at the aquarium. I found the episode pretty interesting, but one thing that really stood out to me was the way Katakana and kanji were used in the show's theme song. When the names of Japanese characters were presented, they were often written in Kanji, and the Korean characters' names were written in Katakana. It feels good when I can pick up things like this based on things we learned
in class.

Katakana

    Some words I found were テレビ for TV, スマホ for Smartphone, パン for Bread (from Portuguese pão), and アルバイト for Part-time job (from German Arbeit). These words are all loanwords. Something interesting I learned is that katakana words don't only represent English foreign words. Although Sensei Kawamura mentioned how katakana is used to represent foreign words, it never really registered in my head that this included foreign languages other than English. I find it cool how one style of writing can represent a diverse range of languages. I also included a picture of the Japanese milk bread because I love bread and hope to try it one day.

     わたし は げつようび ごぜん くじはんごろ に おきます. ごぜん じゅうじはんごろ に pancake と eggs を たべます. わたし の クラシ は すうがく と コンピュウタ と にほんご です. わたし の にほんご の クラス は ごご さんじはん です. ごご じゅうにじごろ に ねます.

    こんにちは! わたし は スポオツと ゲエム が すき です. 

    My favorite sports are soccer and basketball. I played soccer in high school, and basketball has always been something fun I play with friends. My favorite player is Cole (C
old) Palmer from Chelsea Football Club. I’ve been a Chelsea fan for so long that I don't even remember when it started.

    I also play games occasionally, and my current favorite is NBA 2K26. Since I started attending Notre Dame, I’ve been hooked on college football a bit, too. As for my all-time favorite, it has to be Skyrim: Special Edition.
